Sure miss Franciscan Hobbies. Bought my first RC plane there back in 1972. Bought plastic models and N trains before that.

I lived in SFO back in 1963 to 1967. I went to both sides of Ocean Av. sites, and I no longer live in the USA but used to go by the store every time I visited Frisco. I now live in Colombia, but will always remember the store and I still have my Marklin HO trains.

John, I am deeply saddened to find out that your shop has closed. I fondly remember going to Franciscans back when it was still across the street & when your father Bill was still active, the days when Chris was working there, etc. I'd love to keep in contact w/ you to chop about the old days, if you're interested to, John. Hop you enjoy your retirement & keep mentally & physically active.

I was very sad to learn of Franciscan Hobbies' closing. Some of my happiest years were spent at Franciscan Hobbies in the City and Root's Hobby Hut in the East Bay.

Still can't believe Franciscan is gone. It's been tough replacing you guys, I still haven't found a hobby shop that's on par with Franciscan. :(
